Encore Days have been rescheduled for both Northern and Southern California residents. We apologize for any confusion this may cause.
Saturday February 12, 2011
Location: CSU Fresno, ED 153
Time: 8:30 am - 5:00 pm
The first meeting will take place at CSU Fresno and then Millerton Lake State Reserve nearby, for both Northern and Southern California residents. We will discuss the relationship of hydrology and water resources to climate change, and tour Millerton Lake by boat. We will also spend some time helping you work on integrating institute materials into your curricula or field investigation. A lunch will be provided, and please remember to dress for winter weather.
For those of you who have never been to CSU Fresno before, please download a campus map. CSU Fresno's address is:
5005 North Maple Ave
Fresno, CA 93740
We will be starting at the Kremen School of Education and Human Development in room ED 153. The easiest way to get there is to go east up Shaw Ave, make a left at Maple Ave into the Main Entrance and then make a right into parking lot C. The Kremen School of Education and Human Development is directly across from parking lot C with the drop off circle on Maple Ave in front of the building's entrance.
Saturday, May 14, 2011
Location: Morro Bay Museum of Natural History, Morro Bay State Park
Time: 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
The second meeting will take place in Morro Bay State Park. This day will be largely devoted to presentations on your field investigations and how you incorporated institute materials into your curricula during the winter and spring. We anticipate several hikes to see both the local marsh and the exciting fauna (sea otters, harbor seals, and nesting herons).
By attending both Encore Days, you can receive one unit of academic credit from CSU Fresno. For more information, please visit our academic units section.
At the end of the second Encore Day, you will receive your certificate of completion for the entire course, additional resources, and a stipend covering both Encore Days. You must attend all institute and Encore days as well as complete all written assignments to receive your CIB certificate of completion and stipend.
